Foods to avoid

Lets start with a list of known ones, and I'll add new things as I discover them.

Lemons
Limes
Kiwis
Raw onions and leeks.
Raw spring onions
Strawberries
Raspberries
Pineapple
Chillies
Tomatoes
Caffeine
Vinegars
Excessive salt
Some apples, ie cox if very tart.
Grapes
Red fruit and veg.
Raw garlic
Dark chocolate
Ginger

As a rule of thumb I avoid:
1. All citrus, and strongly acidic foods, such as vinegar.
2. A lot of very salty foods and those with strong flavouring also trigger a reaction in my face, that means things like salt and vinegar crisps, and a lot of low calorie snacks like the snack a jack rice crackers.
3.Yeasty products also affect me, making my face feel hot and look very flushed. It's very uncomfortable. I can't use 'nutritional yeast flakes' and some ready made soups with yeasty stocks. I use kallo products with low yeast and salt content and make my own soups.

Week 3 - Colon Clense

W/C 13 April 2015 When Sue Guild spoke to me last week about supporting gut health, she also mentioned a condition called 'leaky gut' I did some digging about on the internet, and found out more. While I don't suffer from many of the conditions that are characteristic of leaky gut, or Candida, Rosacea is cited as a possible sign of infection. Candida is a naturally occurring yeast, that resides in the gut. If it overgrows and is fed with sugars and yeasts, it can cause problems, and lead to leaky gut syndrome, where it attacks the gut lining, and causes toxins to leak into the bloodstream. The toxins have to go somewhere - and via the skin is not unheard of, others suffer with eczema and Psoriasis. I got a book about it, called "The Candida Diet Solution", by Sandra Boehner. It arrived while we were away visiting family, and having a wonderful sunny weekend with all the kids. As soon as we had unpacked the car I literally devoured the book, and read with gr...

Starting from Scratch

Well, not quite from Scratch, but since my economic situation has stopped my regular light treatment, and as my skin gradually is reverting back to more frequent flare ups and redness, I want to take it on, and find some sustainable lifestyle remedies. BASICS I can easily bring in a few healthy basics.. things I know would help but am not doing.. DIET 1. 2 litres of water a day 2. quit dairy 3. quit sugar 4. quit caffeine LIFESTYLE 1. daily meditation 2. keep fit That's my goal this week. Sounds like a lot. All this coupled with some homeschooling, which I have never done before. SO - thats a lot of change in one week. maybe I'll stick to doing my best and keeping a food diary to see where I can make changes. here goes.

1 Week In

I am having a terrible day today, feeling so miserable. It might be because I'm being quite strict with my diet and am having withdrawal symptoms... either that or I'm starving. My skin has improved a little, although still getting a few fresh pimples every day. its going to take time.
